Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1901, in very good condition with 80% original finish. 4/5 Bore (lightly worn rifling). 3/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
On the right side of the stock, there are a pair of gouges to the left of the finger groove. Light pressure marks along the forearm in between the barrel bands. On the left side of the stock, there are several scrapes and gouges on the grip. Between the grip and the right side of the finger groove there are several large, mild pressure marks and some small dots of paint transfer. Gouges along the upper edge of the finger groove. Deep gouge in front of the rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock, there are a couple of gouges on the pistol grip and a gouge on the right side of the magazine plate, in front of the magazine catch. The comb of the stock is stamped at the heel for Canton Vaud. There is also a capital letter A stamped. Stock is chipped on the inner edge to the left of the barrel step. Mild to fair pressure marks throughout the handguard. There is light gouging on the top side of the handguard in front of the ferrule and another series of light to mild gouges in front of the rear barrel band.
Moderate finish wear, mild patina, and light scratches throughout the receiver, with heavy finish wear and light pitting on the right side. Moderate edge wear around the loading slot, fair edge wear around the lightening cuts. Both barrel bands have heavy patina. Moderate to heavy finish wear and heavy patina on the magazine plate and the trigger guard. Fair to moderate finish wear and patina on the magazine.
Receiver is P 63 stamped, indicating privatization in 1963.
Both bolt knobs are cracked.
Includes muzzle cover and leather sling. The muzzle cover is marked with the letters "P K" on the left side and "K" on the right side.
