Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1900, in very good condition with 90% finish. 5/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. Stock non-matching serial number (268122, also 1900 production). Handguard matching serial number. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
On the right side of the stock, there are scattered light pressure marks around the butt. To the left of the finger groove, there are multiple mild to moderate pressure marks, a pair of heavy gouges near the magazine, and a few light gouges. On the finger groove, there is a mild pressure mark above the left side, a mild gouge above the right side, and pressure marks on the bottom right edge. Several mild to fair pressure marks along the forearm in between the two barrel bands. On the left side of the stock, there are light pressure marks throughout. Light gouges around the finger groove. Behind and in front of the rear barrel band, and extending up onto the handguard, there are multiple moderate to heavy pressure marks and a few light gouges. On the underside of the stock there are a few gouges on the right side of the magazine plate in front of the magazine catch. Light pressure marks along the forearm. Heavy finish wear at the heel of the stock. Handguard has a crack that has been armory repaired. Mild to fair pressure marks throughout the handguard. Light gouges on the right side of the handguard at the woodline near the front barrel band and a couple of light gouges on the left side in approximately the same area.
Receiver finish is refurbished and lightly worn. Light edge wear around the loading slot and the lightening cuts. Surface marks can be seen underneath the bluing. Both barrel bands have light finish wear and light patina. Light to mild finish wear on the magazine plate. Light finish wear on the trigger guard. Light finish wear and light edge wear on the magazine.
Receiver is P stamped. ·6 stamped below the serial number, indicating armory refurbishment in 1906.
