Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1900, in very good condition with 80% original finish. 4/5 Bore (lightly worn rifling). 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Furniture has light to mild handling wear and light to mild pressure marks throughout. On the right side of the stock there are a few very light to light gouges on the butt near the pistol grip, and a couple of light gouges on the pistol grip. Three small gouges just below the woodline below the handguard ferrule. On the left side of the stock, the butt is covered with light pressure marks from the end of the butt to the pistol grip. Heavy pressure mark on the inside of the right side of the finger groove and on the left edge. Multiple small gouges along the comb of the stock. Handguard has some scattered gouges between the two barrel bands, some with some sort of red coloration or paint transfer from the object that caused the gouging.
Receiver finish is lightly worn throughout, with a little heavier finish wear at the rear of the receiver. Light edge wear around the loading slot and the lightening cuts. Light to mild edge wear at the forward edge. Both barrel bands have mild finish wear and patina. Mild to fair finish wear on the magazine plate and an area of heavy pitting on a corner near the magazine. Light finish wear on the trigger guard. Moderate to heavy finish wear on the base of the magazine.
Ring on the cocking piece is cracked.
