Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1900, in very good condition with 85% finish. 5/5 Bore. 3/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Stock has heavy finish wear around the edge of the butt, immediately in front of the butt plate.
On the right side of the stock, there are multiple light and mild gouges around the butt of the stock. Mild pressure mark below the bolt release lever. Mild pressure mark on the upper edge of the finger groove, light pressure mark below the finger groove, and a scratch on the right edge. On the left side of the stock, between the grip and the finger groove, there is dark staining below the woodline and multiple light gouges and scratches. Multiple heavy scrapes along the forearm above the finger groove, up to the rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock there is gouging on the right side of the magazine plate, in front of the magazine catch. Mild to fair pressure marks on the forearm between the two barrel bands. Several scrapes on the left side of the handguard, between the ferrule and rear barrel band, associated with the scrapes on the stock below.
All bluing had been previously refurbished. Receiver has light finish wear over the chamber and the base of the barrel. Surface marks throughout the receiver. Rear barrel band has light finish wear and heavy tooling marks around the mounting screw. Front barrel band has mild finish wear, with heavier finish wear on the left side. Light finish wear on the magazine plate. Mild finish wear on the trigger guard. Light pitting on the magazine plate and trigger guard.
Receiver is P stamped. ·7 stamped below the serial number, indicating armory refurbishment in 1907.
Both bolt knobs are chipped.
