Swiss 1889 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1891, in very good condition with 85% finish. 4/5 Bore (lightly worn rifling). 4/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers. Includes bayonet with frog.
On the right side of the stock, there are heavy pressure marks at the comb and a light gouge at the heel. On the left side of the stock there is a heavy pressure mark at the forward end of the butt, rear of the grip. Heavy pressure mark between the finger groove and rear barrel band. There is a 1/4" crack at the receiver tang. Handguard has a small, mild gouge behind the rear barrel band. Between the barrel bands there is a light gouge and heavy pressure mark.
Receiver finish is heavily worn and has mild patina throughout. Both barrel bands have light to mild finish wear and mild patina. Magazine plate and trigger guard have light finish wear.
No P stamp noted.
Includes matching serial number model 1889 bayonet, made by SIG Neuhausen, with scabbard and leather frog. Blade has marks from what may have been an attempt to polish the blade as well as light pitting at the tip. Scabbard finish is lightly worn and has light patina. Leather frog was made by J. Unger of Gais (canton Appenzell Ausserrhoden) in 1890.
