Swiss 1889 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1892, in good condition with 75% original finish. 5/5 Bore. 3/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
On the right side of the stock, there are a series of light pressure marks to the right of the bolt release lever. There is a gouge on the inside of the finger groove, a few pressure marks below the right side, and several small, mild pressure marks to the right. On the left side of the stock, there is a deep, heavy gouge on the grip and a long, heavy pressure mark to the left of the gouge. Small gouge on the upper edge of the finger groove. There is a gouge spanning between the stock and handguard in between the rear barrel band and the handguard ferrule. On the underside of the stock there is a gouge in between the rear sling mount and the magazine plate.
Receiver has fair to moderate finish wear and mild patina and several light surface marks in the metal. . Heavier finish wear noted around the barrel step. Rear barrel band has moderate finish wear and mild patina. Front barrel band has mild finish wear and mild patina. Fair finish wear on the magazine plate with heavier finish wear around the trigger guard. Trigger guard has moderate finish wear and heavy patina. Magazine has heavy finish wear on the bottom.
Receiver is P 20 stamped, indicating privatization in 1920.
