Swiss 1889 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1892, in good condition with 75% original finish. 2/5 Bore (heavily worn rifling, some spots of light to mild pitting at the beginning of the rifling). 1/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Furniture has light pressure marks found throughout. On the right side of the stock are a pair of scratches above the rear slight mount. Light scratch on the forearm near the front barrel band. The toe of the stock has an unrepaired crack. On the underside of the stock there is a heavy gouge near the front barrel band. There is an unrepaired crack at the front barrel band. The heel of the stock is stamped with an encircled number 1.
Receiver has mostly light finish wear and light patina throughout. Scattered spots of light pitting. Mild to fair edge wear around the loading slot, mild edge wear around the lightening cuts. Area of fair to moderate finish wear on the top side in between the lightening cuts. Not visible, underneath the furniture the barrel has multiple spots of pitting. Rear barrel band has heavy pitting on the left side. Front barrel band has heavy finish wear and light patina. Magazine plate has moderate finish wear. Both the trigger guard and magazine have heavy finish wear, light patina, and mild pitting.
Both bolt knobs are cracked.
Receiver is P19 stamped, indicating privatization in 1919.
Includes muzzle cover and leather sling.
