Swiss 1889 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1896, in good condition with 75% finish. 3/5 Bore (mildly worn rifling). 4/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
On the right side of the stock there are large, shallow pressure marks near the rear of the comb and light gouging along the bottom of the butt. On the left side of the stock there is a heavy gouge at the heel and a light gouge near the forward end of the comb. Severe gouge before the rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock there are light gouges on the wrist around the trigger guard. Heavy pressure marks and light gouging along the comb. Handguard has a mild to heavy gouge before the front barrel band.
Receiver has heavily worn finish and light patina. Both barrel bands are almost in the white. Magazine plate and trigger guard are in the white. Magazine is approaching white. Butt plate is cracked at the heel.
