Antique Swiss W+F Bern 1889 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1892, in very good condition with 85% finish. 4/5 Bore (lightly worn rifling). 4/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers. Includes matching bayonet.
The forward end of the left side of the handguard has a section that appears to have been previously chipped off then reattached with glue.
On the right side of the stock there are light gouges before the finger groove. On the left side of the stock there are mild pressure marks at the rear of the butt. Light gouging before the finger groove. On the underside of the stock there is a light gouge on the butt. Light gouging on the right side of the trigger guard. Light gouging before the front barrel band. Handguard has light gouging between the ferrule and rear barrel band. Light gouging in front of the rear barrel band.
Receiver finish is lightly worn and has light pitting. Rear barrel band has heavily worn finish and mild patina. Front barrel band has lightly worn finish and light patina. Magazine has heavily worn finish.
P27 stamped receiver, indicating privatization in 1927.
Includes muzzle cover and leather sling.
Includes matching serial number model 1899 bayonet, manufactured by Waffenfabrik Neuhausen, with scabbard. Bayonet was reissued as the previous serial number on the guard can be faintly seen behind the new serial number.
Blade is in excellent condition. Left side guard has heavy surface marks.
Scabbard has mild to heavy finish wear and mild pitting.
