Product Description
Swiss 1889 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1892, in good condition with 60% finish. 3/5 Bore (heavy pitting around the muzzle and crown). 4/5 Stock. Non-matching serial numbers: stock (s/n 58707) and handguard (s/n 300900).
Furniture had been previously refinished. The finish has a gritty feeling to it.
On the right side of the stock, a splice is found at the forward end, under the front barrel band. On the left side of the stock there are light gouges around the butt. On the underside of the stock there is a light gouge at the toe.
Receiver finish is heavily worn and has heavy pitting throughout. Heavy pitting along the top of the bolt. Heavy pitting along the underside of the barrel. Rear barrel band has heavy finish wear and mild pitting and looks like it is sand-blasted matte. Front barrel band is in the white and has light pitting. Trigger guard has heavy edge wear and mild patina. Mild pitting throughout the magazine.
Receiver is P11 stamped, indicating privatization in 1911.
