Swiss 1889 Infantry rifle, produced in 1891, in very good condition with 80% finish. 4/5 Bore (lightly worn rifling, light pitting). 4/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
Both bolt knobs are cracked. Upper bolt knob is also chipped.
On the right side of the stock there is a heavy gouge low on the butt. On the left side of the stock there are light gouges on the grip and about halfway between the grip and the finger groove. Small group of mild pressure marks behind the rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock there is a light gouge in front of the magazine plate. Handguard has a heavy gouge and mild pressure marks between the barrel bands. Large, heavy pressure mark before the front barrel band on the left side.
Receiver has mild to heavy finish wear. Light pitting throughout the receiver. Surface marks throughout the rear sight. Rear barrel band has mild finish wear. Surface marks found throughout the front barrel band. Magazine plate and trigger guard have mild finish wear.
No P stamp noted.
