Swiss 1889 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1891, in very good condition with 85% finish. 5/5 Bore. 3/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
Upper bolt knob is cracked. Lower bolt knob is chipped.
On the right side of the stock, there are mild gouges at the forward end of the butt. On the left side of the stock, there are mild gouges and mild pressure marks throughout the butt. Multiple pressure marks and light to heavy gouging between the grip and finger groove. Light gouging behind both barrel bands. On the underside of the stock, there are light gouges throughout the butt. Mild pressure marks and mild gouges between the magazine plate and the rear barrel band. Light gouging along the comb.
Receiver finish is lightly worn. Left side of the receiver has light to mild pitting. Rear barrel band has light finish wear. Mild pitting on the right side of the rear barrel band. Front barrel band has light finish wear. Magazine plate and trigger guard has light to mild finish wear. Pair of heavy surface marks on the left side of the trigger guard.
Receiver is P31 stamped, indicating privatization in 1931.
