This Swiss Luger 1906/24 is in good condition with 70% original finish. 5/5 Bore. All visible serial numbers matching. Grips matching serial numbers. Frame has bluing wear throughout: Bluing is worn on the front left edge of the frame; left side of the frame above the grip has edge wear and continues to the rear; high area of the trigger plate is worn; right side of the frame at the top has bluing wear which continues to the rear; trigger guard has finish wear at the edges as well as on the forward face. The receiver has a line of finish wear to the left of the trigger plate; finish wear on the left and right sides by the toggle grips; edge wear on the toggle. Straw finish on the takedown lever, trigger, and safety selector is worn. Bluing wear on the grip safety. There is a small ding on the underside of the barrel near the middle. Wood grips are in good condition with some handling wear; some of the checkering has dulled in places; the right side grip has two round spots where the checkering has been flattened. Left side of the receiver is stamped to the left of the trigger plate with the BernerProbe mark and an inspection mark from Colonel Muhlemann. Frame is P stamped. C&R eligible. Very discreet import engraving.
The model 06/24 was part of the first Swiss Lugers that were completely manufactured by Waffenfabrik Bern for the Swiss Army in 1928. The top of the chamber area is blank and the front toggle link is marked with the small Swiss cross over "WAFFENFABRIK BERN".
This model has the standard 1906/24 features such as a new type toggle with flat, checkered toggle knobs; polished lower safety area, no stock lug and barrel chambered in 7.65mm Luger. Original Swiss checkered walnut grips with smooth border around the edges and left grip slotted for grip safety. Original nickel plated magazine with wooden base.
