Vintage Swiss Army field telephone, model 1947 (Feldtelefon Modell 1947), or the FTf 47, is a backpack-portable version of the wooden-cased Army Telephone model 47 (Armeetelefon Modell 1947) or ATf 47. It is one of 570 pieces manufactured by Autophon AG in Solothurn, Switzerland from 1948 to 1949, and saw use by the Swiss Military from 1948 to 1985.
Field phone is integrated into a leather backpack. The leather is in very good condition with expected cosmetic scuffs and marks from field use. The front face of the pack has a leather flap on the left side covering two jacks and a rotatable metal plate on the right side that covers the input for the hand crank.
The inside of the lid has two metal plates with a schematic of the radio to aid in diagnostics and service.
Field phone includes a send/receive handset, a listen-only earpiece, and a hand crank.
Untested and unable to check for function.
