Product Description
The Finnish Tikka M24, also known as an m/24 or M91/24 Mosin Nagant, is a fairly scare rifle as production numbers are very low and was involved in two to three conflicts. It is in good condition with 60% original finish. 2/5 Bore. 2/5 Stock. Furniture non-matching serial numbers. Bolt non-matching serial number. Magazine floorplate non-matching serial number.
Stock has handling marks, dents, several gouges and nicks from handling/use, and age, which is to be expected considering this rifle's history. Stock is a Finnish two-piece design and is spliced at the comb and butt. The Russian sling slots do not have the Finnish sling hangers attached. The handguard has a chip on the right edge at the rear and is cracked down the middle. It is held together by the handguard bands and copper rivets at either end.
Barrel shank is stamped on the right side at the stock line with "Schweiz Industrie Gesellschaft Neuhausen" indicating that this is a Swiss-manufactured barrel by SIG Neuhausen. The top of the barrel shank is stamped with the Suojeluskuntain Yliesikunta (Civil Guard) crest as well as a "Christmas tree" mark (equilateral triangle atop centered vertical line). Barrel has light pitting throughout the bore, with a small dent at the end of the barrel near the crown. This is the updated "Heavy" barrel as noted by the "step" found near the muzzle.
Receiver still has some bluing remaining but it is heavily worn in places. Barrel has retained most of its bluing. Both early Russian M91 barrel bands have also retained their bluing. Magazine body and trigger guard is nearly completely in the white and has patina.
C&R eligible. Discrete import engraving.
