Swiss ZFK 31/43 Sniper Carbine, produced in 1943, in very good condition with 90% finish. 3/5 Bore (bright bore, sharp rifling, but there is an area of fairly deep pitting about 2-3" from the chamber). 3/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Furniture has numerous light to mild pressure marks as well as gouging throughout. On the right side of the stock, there is a long gouge at the butt, a few mild pressure marks around the middle of the butt, and an area of multiple light pressure marks and a long scratch just below the comb, rear of the grip. Small gouge just forward of the grip, above the trigger. On the left side of the stock, there is a large, mild pressure mark at the rear of the grip, near the receiver tang and multiple light to mild pressure marks on the side of the stock below the integrated scope. Gouge on the forearm in front of the rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock, there is a gouge on the pistol grip. Several small gouges found near the front of the magazine plate. On the comb of the stock there is moderate finish wear to the left of the heel and a gouge at the end of the comb, near the receiver tang. Handguard has a pair of large, heavy gouges in front of the handguard ferrule, and numerous light to mild pressure marks throughout. There are also a few light gouges in between the two barrel bands.
Receiver has been refinished. Minor to very light edge wear around the loading slot. The integrated KERN 2.8x optic has fair to moderate finish wear, but the periscope end has heavy finish wear. Both barrel bands have light finish wear. Magazine plate has limited finish wear. Trigger guard has light edge wear and light to mild finish wear on the underside. Magazine has limited finish wear but there is mild finish wear around the bottom right edge.
KERN 2.8x optic appears clear but there appears to be glare coming from an unknown source.

The Karabiner Model 1931 (K31) is a magazine fed, straight pull, bolt action rifle chambered in 7.5x55mm Swiss Gewehrpatrone 1911 (GP11) that was the standard issue rifle of the Swiss Armed Forces from 1933 through 1958. The K31 was made by Eidgenossische Waffenfabrik Bern, a Swiss federal armory, and is one of the last carbines employed by the Swiss military that is based on the designs by Schmidt and Rubin. The ZFK31/43, along with the ZFK31/42 is a rare sniper carbine variant of the K31, and 2,241 pieces total were produced.
