Swiss Martini target rifle, made by Robert Widmer of Biel/Bienne (canton Bern), in very good condition with 85% finish. 5/5 Bore. 1/5 Stock.
Chambered in 7.5x53.5 (GP90).
Stock has a 2" crack on the left side, coming off the rear edge of the butt, below the heel and parallel to the comb. Forearm has a 2.5" crack.
On the right side of the stock, there is a heavy gouge at the rear of the butt that appears to have been sanded. A diamond-shaped brass plate is inlayed at the center of the butt and is not populated with the original owner's name. Light gouge on the comb. On the right side of the forearm there is a light gouge at both ends.
Receiver finish is lightly worn. Light patina and light pitting throughout the receiver. Operating lever and butt plate has heavily worn finish and patina throughout. Heavy pitting around the edge of the tang.
Receiver has decorative engravings on the left and right sides. The right side of the receiver is stamped with "Rob. Widmer". The left side of the receiver has "Bienne". "Acier Fondu" (cast/crucible steel) is stamped behind the rear sight. The barrel has "Rob Widmer Bienne" stamped on the top side and "A Nicod Moudon" (Andre Nicod of Moudon, canton Vaud) on the underside.
Includes leather sling.
