Swiss Martini rifle, manufactured by G. Rickenbach in Basel and sold by J. Burgin of Basel, in very good condition with 80% finish. 5/5 Bore. 2/5 Stock.
On the right side of the stock, there is a surface gouge on the grip. The grip also has a pair of holes that appear to have been the result of something previously screwed in to the grip area. On the left side of the stock, there are light gouges at the rear of the butt and a heavy gouge on the underside of the cheek piece. Left side of the handguard has an unrepaired 1.25" crack at the rear. Underside of the handguard has two unpopulated large screw holes with a heavy gouge near the forward screw hole.
Mild to heavy finish wear throughout the firearm. Scratches and light gouges on the right side of the receiver. Small, deep gouge on the left side of the receiver at the rear. Light pitting and multiple surface marks on the operating lever. Rear half of the barrel has light pitting throughout.
Receiver has been tapped to mount scope rings; the forward tap was placed over the seller stamp reading "J. Burgin Basel". The barrel is stamped on the top side with "Special Rifle Steel". "Rickenbach Basel" is double stamped on the right side of the receiver".
Includes leather sling.
