Swiss M1957 Bayonet - sn 70702
Swiss Model 1957 bayonet for the Stg57, manufactured by Victorinox. Military issue. Includes scabbard and leather frog.
An attempt was made to sharpen the blade. The tip has an "uneven" appearance as a result. There are two large chips in the grip, a large heavy pressure mark at the top of the grip near the crosspiece and a few small marks on the bottom. Crosspiece is slightly loose. Handling wear throughout the scabbard.
Unlike previous Swiss bayonets, the Model 1957 bayonets were numbered separately, rather than when the rifle was issued to the soldier. The soldier's issued M1957 bayonet's serial number is unlikely to match the issued Stgw57 rifle.
