Product Description
Model 1889 bayonet, blade manufactured by SIG Neuhausen and assembled at Maschinenfabrik Bern. Includes scabbard & leather frog.
Blade has grinding marks from previous sharpening. Light to mild pitting on the right side of the pommel. Scabbard has spots of mild finish wear throughout.
Leather frog was made by Fr. Wiss of Buron (Lucerne) in 1944.
These bayonets were issued with the Schmidt-Rubin 1889 Infantry Rifle and 1896/11 Infantry Rifle. The serial number indicates that this bayonet would have been issued with an 1889 Infantry Rifle produced in 1892.
