Model 1889 bayonet, manufactured by SIG Neuhausen. Includes scabbard and leather frog.
Blade was previously polished. SIG Neuhausen stamp is faint. Walnut grips have been sanded and rounded. Pommel has light surface marks.
Scabbard has lightly worn finish and light patina. Leather frog was made by Fried. Grlub of Lotzwil (Bern) in 1917.
These bayonets were issued with the Schmidt-Rubin 1889 Infantry Rifle and 1896/11 Infantry Rifle. The serial number indicates that this bayonet would have been issued with an 1889 Infantry Rifle produced in 1891.
