Model 1889 bayonet, manufactured by Maschinenfabrik Bern. Includes scabbard and leather frog.
Blade has light surface marks. Light surface marks throughout the guard. Right side grip has light gouging. Light pitting on the grip and light surface marks on the pommel.
Scabbard has mild to heavy finish wear. Leather frog was made by H. Hedinger of St. Imier (Bern) in 1932.
These bayonets were issued with the Schmidt-Rubin 1889 Infantry Rifle and 1896/11 Infantry Rifle. The serial number indicates that this bayonet would have been issued with an 1889 Infantry Rifle produced in 1892.
