STAR model MB pistol, based on the 1911, in very good condition with 93% original finish. 5/5 Bore. All visible serial numbers matching.
Pistol has a very nice polished bluing with some scattered very light scratches. Right side of the frame has minimal edge wear at the forward edge. Very light edge wear on the top of the beavertail. Very light edge wear on the trigger guard. There are also a few scattered light surface marks on some of the edges. Left side of the frame has very light edge wear on the top of the beavertail and a few scattered light marks in the finish.
Slide has light edge wear along the upper edge on the left and right sides and around the muzzle. Very light edge wear around the ejection port. Hammer is 1911 Government-style and case hardened.
Checkering on the backstrap / stock lug is very sharp.
Grips are dark brown and either plastic or bakelite. They have mostly good checkering. There is a flat spot in the right grip panel checkering above the midpoint, likely caused by rubbing against components in the holster.
Underneath the left side grip, there are two proof stamps indicating receipt at a proof house and subsequent passing at the Eibar proof house, and a date code translating to 1972.
Pistol includes an attachable wooden stock which also doubles as a holster. Holster is stamped with "31" on the metal stock attachment, the main body, and the butt, which matches the pistol's serial number. There are some light scratches and a few small, light gouges present in the wood but otherwise the stock is in very good condition.
Note that the safety must be engaged on the pistol before holstering it within the stock. If the pistol is not placed on safe before holstering, it is still capable of being inserted into the holster but the lever will interfere with the latch mechanism, requiring the side hinge to be removed in order to remove the "butt" of the stock and the pistol.
While normally adding a stock to a pistol constitutes the manufacture of a Short Barrel Rifle, this pistol and stock is exempted, is not an NFA item, and does not require a tax stamp.
Pistol has a magazine safety and the hammer will not drop without a magazine inserted.
Includes two original factory extended capacity magazines; one 16rd and one 32rd.
Modern production; not C&R eligible. See our How To Order page for ordering instructions.
The Star MB is chambered in 9x23mm Largo, which is not the same as 9x23mm Winchester. This pistol predates the development of 9x23mm Winchester. Do not use 9x23mm Winchester with this pistol as 9x23mm Winchester produces pressures far beyond this pistol's operating parameters.
Pistol includes magazines that exceed 10 rounds. Know your local laws and regulations regarding magazine capacity before ordering!
