Left side of the frame has edge wear at the forward edge of the high area and moderate edge wear at the dust cover. Edge wear on the top of the high area continues to the rear, and light edge wear on the bottom of the high area runs to about the Waffenkontrolle stamp. Edge wear on the dust cover continues on the side about 3/4 of the way down the dust cover. There are several light scratches along the high area, with most of them found around the slide stop lever. There is also an area of lightly worn bluing on the high area above the safety selector lever. there is a mark in the lower portion of the frame where the slide stop lever has rubbed against the frame, as well as a few smaller scratches around that. Small mark in the metal on the high area near the rear of the frame, below the upper edge. There is the usual mark in the frame from safety selector usage. Light edge wear at the bottom of the front strap. Finish wear on the lanyard loop.
Right side of the frame has edge wear with a few adjacent scratches at the forward edge of the high area of the frame and edge wear at the dust cover. Edge wear on the top edge of the high area runs to the rear. Light edge wear on the bottom edge of the high area is short. Edge wear on the dust cover continues about half the way down the dust cover. Some scattered marks in the bluing at the high area, with most of the marks appearing near the slide stop lever pin. Light edge wear on the trigger guard. On the underside are a few light marks on the dust cover and bottom of the trigger guard.
Slide has edge wear around the muzzle and some finish wear on the left side of the chin. Light edge wear on the upper edge of the slide on both sides. Holster wear on the front and rear sights. There are some small scattered marks in the metal underneath the bluing; it is unclear if these exist as tool marks from slide manufacturing or if they were previous wear marks and the slide has been refinished. The slide does have a polished finish, compared to the frame's sandblasted finish that is normally seen with these 2nd Series 4th Delivery, Version B models.
Plastic grips have light handling wear and good checkering. Grip screw has light wear marks from disassembly/reassembly.
Includes military leather holster with shoulder sling. Holster is stamped on the back with "James Baeriswyl, Céleri, Sassel" (Canton Vaud, Switzerland) with manufacturing year of 1952.
Frame is P stamped on the left side of the trigger guard.
C&R eligible. Very discreet import engraving.
Originally manufactured in 1947 by SIG in Neuhausen, Switzerland, this pistol was first designated as the SP 47/8 and became the standard military pistol of the Swiss Army in 1949 under the designation Pistole 49 (P49). The military P49 is identified by it's A-Prefix serial number and has a distinct engraving of the Swiss shield above the slide just in front of the rear sight.
Later designated as the P210, this handgun is constructed of steel and is chambered in either 9x19mm or 7.65x21mm Parabellum. The SIG P210 has been manufactured continuously for over 55 years with numerous variations, all of which are highly valued for their historical significance and reputation for surgical accuracy.
