Swiss Army SIG P49, part of the first series, third delivery to the Swiss Army, in very good condition with 90% original finish. 5/5 Bore. Frame, barrel, and slide matching serial numbers.
Finish is polished, as found on the first series. On the right side of the frame, there is light edge wear at the forward edge and very light to light edge wear along the upper edge. There is a blemish in the finish at the rear of the frame on the upper edge. Small spot of light edge wear on the beavertail. Light edge wear on the trigger guard. On the left side of the frame, there is light finish wear and light edge wear at the forward edge and on the dust cover, with light edge wear continuing along the upper edge to the rear. There is a very light scratch above the slide stop lever at the high area and a pair of scratches on the frame below the lever. Expected mark in the frame from safety selector usage. Light edge wear on the trigger guard. The underside of the trigger guard has a few very light scratches. Slide has light edge wear on the upper edge on both sides. Light edge wear around the muzzle. Light holster wear on the front and rear sights.
Original wood grips have light handling wear. There is a large, light pressure mark on the upper right of the left side grip panel.
Frame is P stamped on the left side of the trigger guard.
Includes military leather holster with shoulder sling. Holster has leathermaker's stamp showing that it was made by "A ZURCHER" of Gerlafingen (Canton of Solothurn) in 1972.

Originally manufactured in 1947 by SIG in Neuhausen, Switzerland, this pistol was first designated as the SP 47/8 and became the standard military pistol of the Swiss Army in 1949 under the designation Pistole 49 (P49). The military P49 is identified by it's A-Prefix serial number and has a distinct engraving of the Swiss shield above the slide just in front of the rear sight.
Later designated as the P210, this handgun is constructed of steel and is chambered in either 9x19mm or 7.65x21mm Parabellum. The SIG P210 has been manufactured continuously for over 55 years with numerous variations, all of which are highly valued for their historical significance and reputation for surgical accuracy.
