SIG Mannlicher 1893 Cavalry Carbine, produced 1895-96, in very good condition with 85% finish. 4/5 Bore (lightly worn rifling). 4/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
Furniture may have been previously sanded and refinished.
On the right side of the stock there is a light gouge on the forearm, below the start of the handguard. On the left side of the stock there are heavy pressure marks on the forward end of the butt. Small, mild gouge above the magazine. Heavy pressure marks on the forearm, below the rear sight. Heavy gouge to the left of the receiver tang. Handguard has a heavy pressure mark on the left side, below the rear sight.
Receiver finish is lightly worn. Light pitting throughout the receiver. Barrel band has light pitting. End cap has light edge wear and light pitting. Trigger guard has mildly worn finish, light patina, and light surface marks.
Receiver is P32 stamped, indicating privatization in 1932.
Includes leather sling.
This scarce example of a Swiss Mannlicher 1893 is one of only 4,250 total produced at SIG Neuhausen between 1895-1896. 1893 models produced afterward were produced by W+F BERN.
