German Mauser Gewehr 98 (G98, Gew 98), originally manufactured at the Danzig Arsenal in 1917 and second date stamped 1920. Very good condition with 90% finish. 4/5 Bore (light pitting throughout the bore). 4/5 Stock. Stock non-matching (1114). Handguard non-matching (0934). Bolt non-matching (6273). Rear barrel band non-matching (6273). Front barrel band matching. Magazine plate non-matching (only legible number is 2). Magazine floor plate non-matching (2328).
On the right side of the stock, there are heavy pressure marks around the butt. Heavy pressure marks over the trigger. On the left side of the stock, there is a heavy pressure mark in front of the finger groove. Heavy pressure mark in front of the rear barrel band. Light gouging on the underside of the stock before the rear barrel band. Light gouge at the forward end of the comb. Some sort of repair was performed at the receiver tang. Handguard has heavy pressure marks in front of the rear sight. Heavy gouge at the center of the handguard.
Light finish wear and light edge wear throughout the receiver. Light finish wear on the bolt release. Rear barrel band has light pitting on the upper half. Light edge wear on the front barrel band. Multiple light surface marks throughout the trigger guard and magazine plate.
