Product Description
Rare Leather scabbard with stainless cap. In excellent condition with well preserved frog from 1937. The grip panels are a walnut. Slight frosting the pommel and hilt. Excellent condition blade with slight chip at the tip. Blade and scabbard shows slight curvature from age. 5/5
This bayonet is not to be mistaken with the model 1906 which was released earlier; it was designed and issued to select troops, mainly to engineer corps, mountain infantry and artillery. Two types of frog were manufactured: steel or leather (rare). It is possible to come across some models where metallic parts were chromed by private companies but authorized by military authorities.
