Swiss model 1899 bayonet, manufactured by Waffenfabrik Neuhausen. Includes scabbard and leather frog.
Blade has light pitting. Blade tip has been rounded off. Guard has light to mild surface marks. Mild pitting around the barrel ring. Right side walnut grip has heavy gouging. Pommel has light to mild surface marks.
Scabbard has lightly worn finish and light to mild pitting. Leather frog was made by A. stetner of Oftringen (Aargau) in 1905.
The mortise has been dented and the barrel ring has been bent slightly downward which will prevent installation on a rifle.
These bayonets were issued with the 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, 1911 Infantry Rifle, and K11 Carbine. The serial number indicates that this bayonet would have been issued with a 96/11 Infantry Rifle produced in 1903.
