Model 1889/18 Bayonet, manufactured by Waffenfabrik Neuhausen. Very light pitting found throughout the blade. Multiple small marks found on the pommel, grips, and cross piece.
Includes steel scabbard and leather frog. The leather tab that secures the scabbard to the frog has broken off. Scabbard has heavy finish wear.
These bayonets were issued with the Schmidt-Rubin 1896/11 Infantry Rifle and the K11 Carbine.
The serial number indicates that this bayonet would have been issued with an 1896/11 Infantry Rifle produced in 1899, meaning this bayonet was originally a model 1889 and later retrofitted at the armory to add the rivet in the fuller.
