The engraved number matches the original rifle the bayonet was used with. The internal diameter of the crown is in theory of 15mm, but some rare models have been re-crowned to 14mm to be potentially used with a K11 model rifle. The US was inspired by this model to create its 1892 Krag bayonet. It is possible to come across some models where metallic parts were chromed by private companies, but authorized by military authorities.
