Single shot, black powder, percussion fire Cavalry Pistol model 1842, manufactured by Auguste Francotte in Liege, Belgium in good condition. 2/5 Bore (mild pitting in the bore, three gouges down the right side of the bore, and looks like someone had cleaned the bore with a steel brush). 1/5 Furniture. No serial number.
Bright brass barrel band, trigger guard, side plate, and grip cap. Remaining finish is in the white. Various surface marks on all metal surfaces. Light patina on the hammer. Smooth bore barrel.
Tiger stripe pattern on the stock. A gloss finish had been applied to the stock. Large crack on the left and right sides of the grip. A third crack is also found on the left side. "VAUD" is stamped on the left side of the stock above the trigger. Light gouging around the upper receiver screw. Mild gouge near the brass plate. Light gouging behind the hammer.
