Antique Swiss W+F Bern 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1897, in very good condition with 80% finish. 4/5 Bore (lightly worn rifling, light pitting). 4/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
One of only 24,550 total 1896/11 Rifles produced that qualify as an Antique instead of Curio & Relic.
Upper bolt knob is cracked. Bolt knob is unserialized.
Stock has faint tiger striping.
On the right side of the stock there is light gouging at the forward end of the stock. Light gouge below the bolt release lever. On the left side of the stock there are light gouges on the butt. Heavy gouging before the rear barrel band. Light gouging in front of the rear barrel band. On the top of the stock there is a heavy pressure mark at the rear of the comb.
Receiver has light to mild finish wear. Both barrel bands are in the white. Magazine plate has an area in front of the trigger guard that is in the white. Trigger guard is in the white. Magazine base is in the white.
P stamped receiver.
·6 stamped below the serial number, indicating armory refurbishment in 1906.
Includes muzzle cover and leather sling.
