Product Description
This Swiss ZFK55 (ZFK31/55) sniper rifle was manufactured in 1958 and is in very good condition with 92% original finish. 5/5 Bore. 3/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number. Included KERN 3.5x optic matching serial number. KERN optic case matching serial number. Stock is very clean with little handling wear, sharp pistol grip checkering, finger grooves, and the Swiss cartouche on the right side of the stock is very sharp, which are all clear signs that the stock has not been refurbished, but there is the presence of a small hairline crack on the left side of the grip. Bore is bright and shiny with sharp rifling. Receiver finish is very dark with very limited spots where the finish has worn. Bluing on the magazine, trigger guard, and trigger plate are also extremely dark and nearly blemish free. Bluing on the integrated bipod is extremely dark with a few small marks of finish wear. Bluing on front barrel band is dark with a few small marks of finish wear. There is some wear on the barrel's bluing, which is the sole detractor of the overall bluing grade. KERN optic's finish has a green tint. C&R Eligible. Discreet import engraving.
KERN optic includes matching serial storage case.
Includes unserialized model 1918/55 bayonet with scabbard.
The Swiss ZFK55 (Zielfernrohr-Karabiner 55 or Mousqueton à Lunette 55) is a purpose-built marksman rifle. An estimated 4,150 rifles were produced. While it is also known as the ZFK31/55 and modeled after the K31, it shares very few components with the Swiss K31 rifle. Its barrel is heavier than that of the K31. The receiver is canted to the right which leaves the magazine and bolt off-set and allows for the use of a standard K31 charger without interfering with the scope. The KERN 3.5x telescoping sight has a quick detach mount that securely attaches directly to the rifle's receiver.
