This Swiss K31 Carbine, produced in 1944, is in very good condition with 90% finish. 4/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Refurbished bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number. A complete set of W+F Bern diopter sights are installed, including the adjustable iris on the rear diopter mount. Furniture has been refinished by the previous owner; it has been sanded down and stained. Barrel has very light pitting at the start of the rifling. There is a P stamp at the barrel step instead of on the receiver, and the receiver tang is stamped with P55, indicating 11 years in military service before privatization. Overall bluing is very dark. There is minor bluing wear on the trigger guard and the front barrel band has some light edge wear. The receiver does have light surface pitting found on the top of the receiver and at the rear edge. The Karabiner Model 1931 (K31) is a magazine fed, straight pull, bolt action rifle chambered in 7.5x55mm Swiss Gewehrpatrone 1911 (GP11) that was the standard issue rifle of the Swiss Armed Forces from 1933 through 1958. The K31 was made by Eidgenossische Waffenfabrik Bern, a Swiss federal armory, and is one of the last carbines employed by the Swiss military that is based on the designs by Schmidt and Rubin.
