Swiss K31 Carbine, produced in 1948, in very good condition with 80% original finish. 4/5 Bore (lightly worn rifling, very light pitting throughout). 2/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Furniture has multiple areas of heavy handling wear and finish wear. Furniture may have been previously partially sanded and refinished as the Swiss military acceptance stamp on the right side of the stock is shallow. On the right side of the stock there is a heavy gouge before the pistol grip, scraping along the pistol grip, and scraping on the grip. At the area below the receiver, there are scrapes along the bottom edge of the stock from the grip to the rear barrel band, including an area below the finger groove with gouging. There is a small but heavy gouge just below the woodline, above the finger groove, to the right of the receiver. On the forearm in between the two barrel bands there are multiple small nicks and gouges, and what appears to be a larger gouge that has been filled in. On the left side of the stock there is a light gouge above the rear sling mount's upper screw and a scrape on the pistol grip. Around the finger groove there are areas of fair finish and handling wear. On the forearm in between the barrel bands, there is a long scrape in front of the rear barrel band and mild to fair finish wear on the forward half. On the underside of the stock there is a light gouge near the pistol grip. Around and in front of the magazine plate there is an area of heavy finish wear and several light gouges. There is a light gouge in front of the rear barrel band spring and a couple of mild pressure marks near the front barrel band. At the heel of the stock there is a small crack about 1/2" in length. Mild finish wear and a few mild pressure marks at the comb. Heavy finish wear on the handguard in between the barrel bands.
Receiver has light to mild finish wear throughout, with slightly heavier finish wear at the rear left side. Mild edge wear around the loading slot. Rear barrel band has has heavy finish wear on the top and right sides and mild patina. Light finish wear on the front barrel band. Front sight base has heavy edge wear along the top edge, mild finish wear, and light patina. Light edge wear on the trigger guard. Light edge wear and light finish wear on the magazine base.
Receiver is P stamped.
Includes muzzle cover and leather sling.
