Swiss K31 Carbine, produced in 1945, in good condition with 85% original finish. 5/5 Bore. 1/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt is refurbished with matching electropenciled serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Stock is cracked at the butt and appears to have had some repair work performed, but they appear to be aftermarket repairs as the method is not consistent with the repairs typically performed by Swiss armories. There is also a large crack on the right side of the stock below the right side of the bolt release lever which has not been repaired.
Furniture has large areas of worn finish.
On the right side of the stock, there are light pressure marks throughout the butt. Light gouge on the pistol grip and a large, shallow gouge on the grip. On the left side of the stock, there is some light scraping to the right of the finger groove. On the underside of the stock there is a light gouge at the toe and a few light scratches next to the trigger. Light gouge on the forearm near the rear barrel band. Light gouge near the forward end of the comb. The handguard has scattered light gouges in between the two barrel bands.
Receiver has light to mild finish wear. Light edge wear around the loading slot. Several light scratches in the finish at the rear of the receiver on the left side. Moderate finish wear on the rear barrel band. Rear barrel band spring has been polished and is in the white. Mostly light finish wear on the front barrel band, with mild to fair finish wear on the stacking arm. Magazine plate has a mild mark in the finish next to the magazine catch. Light edge wear and light to mild finish wear on the trigger guard. Fair finish wear on the magazine base.
Receiver is P stamped.
Soldier's tag found under butt plate.
