Swiss 1911 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1918, in very good condition with 93% finish. 5/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Furniture has been completely sanded and refinished as the Swiss military acceptance stamp on both the stock and handguard are not visible. There is very limited handling wear evident, mostly light pressure marks and a few mild pressure marks, however there are some marks on the wood from storage and/or transit. On the right side of the stock there are small gouges on the grip and mild pressure marks on the pistol grip knob. There is a light gouge at the woodline below the receiver. On the left side of the stock, there are a few long pressure marks at the top of the grip, below the receiver. Above the center of the finger groove are a pair of gouges. On the forearm there is a long gouge between the stock and handguard near the front barrel band. Toward the left side of the heel are a pair of heavy scuffs or gouges. The handguard has a small gouge on the left side near the long gouge.
All bluing has been refurbished. Light pitting at the rear of the receiver and scattered surface marks are found found underneath the receiver's refurbished bluing. There is a heavy mark from staking the barrel or marking a registration mark between the receiver and barrel. The base of the barrel has light pitting underneath the refurbished bluing. The tangent sight has been completely blued over which is a telltale sign that the bluing has been refurbished. The rear barrel band has some scattered spots of light pitting and some surface marks on the top side. The trigger guard has light pitting and several surface marks toward the rear. Magazine has light to mild pitting.
Receiver is P54 stamped, indicating privatization in 1954.
