Swiss 1911 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1917, in very good condition with 80% finish. 4/5 Bore (lightly worn rifling, yellow tint noted). 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial numbers. Magazine matching serial number.
Furniture appears to have been sanded at some point as the Swiss military inspection stamp on the right side of the stock is not visible. Furniture exhibits mild to fair handling wear, and has various light pressure marks throughout with a few light gouges. On the right side of the stock, the wood has a dark coloration from the grip to the finger groove. There are a pair of pressure marks on the pistol grip. Multiple light pressure marks found in front of the finger groove. On the left side of the stock, the wood has a dark coloration from the grip to the finger groove, and moderate handling wear at the area below the receiver. There is a scratch inside the finger groove and a scratch extending from the upper left edge of the finger groove toward the handguard ferrule. On the underside of the stock, there are a few light marks to the left of the magazine plate and a small chip at the edge of the magazine plate, to the left of the middle screw. Rear of the front barrel band is a long, thin scratch. The comb of the stock appears to be stamped with "VAUD". There is a chip at the tang. The handguard has a scuff on the top side, to the right of the partially visible Swiss military stamp.
Receiver bluing has been refinished. Light edge wear around the loading slot, very light to light edge wear around the lightening cuts, and very light to light edge wear at the rear of the receiver. Around the upper lightening cuts, there are some impact marks visible in the metal that have been blued over. Rear barrel band has light finish wear and light patina. Front barrel band has mild to fair finish wear. Magazine plate has fair to moderate finish wear, mostly on the area in front of the trigger guard. Trigger guard has edge wear and fair finish wear. Magazine base is nearly in the white.
Bottom bolt knob is chipped.
Receiver is P 58 stamped, indicating privatization in 1958.
Soldier's tag found under butt plate.

The Model 1911 rifle is a magazine fed, straight pull, bolt action rifle produced by Eidgenossische Waffenfabrik Bern that employs all of the upgrades of the converted 1896/11 rifle from the factory. The Model 1911 rifle is chambered in 7.5x55mm Swiss Gewehrpatrone 1911 (GP11) and was produced by the Swiss federal armory from 1913 through 1919.
