Swiss 1911 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1916, in good condition with 80% original finish. 5/5 Bore. 1/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Stock has areas of mild to fair finish wear around the butt. Various light to mild pressure marks found throughout the furniture. On the right side of the stock there are a couple of scrapes above the rear sling mount. There is an unrepaired crack on the grip by the magazine plate. Pair of gouges on the forearm before the rear barrel band. In front of the rear barrel band there is a gouge at the woodline between the handguard and stock and another gouge below. Small gouge near the front barrel band. On the left side of the stock, there is gouging forward of the grip. There is a long scratch on the stock running from the handguard ferrule to the gouged area. Small gouge just before the rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock, there is a heavy gouge on the pistol grip. Handguard has a heavy pressure mark on the top side before the rear barrel band. There is also an unrepaired 6" crack in between the two barrel bands.
Receiver finish is lightly worn overall. There seems to be a mild dent in the receiver toward the right side. Both barrel bands have fair to moderate finish wear, light patina, and light pitting. Mild to fair finish wear on the magazine plate. Light to mild finish wear on the trigger guard, light patina, and light pitting. Moderate finish wear on the magazine base.
Receiver is P stamped. "L26" stamped below the serial number, indicating armory refurbishment in 1926.
