Barrel has a roll stamp from F. FORNEY, LAUSANNE who is likely the original purchaser of this 1911. Francois Forney, and the Forney family, was an armorer who operated a shop in Lausanne, Canton of Vaud, Switzerland, since 1808. After six generations of armorers, they ceased operations in February 2018.
Rare P-series serial number, indicating that this was manufactured and sold for private sale rather than military service.
