Swiss 1911 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1913, in very good condition with 85% finish. 5/5 Bore. 2/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number. Bolt knob matching serial number.
One of 15,000 total produced (one of 9,000 in 1913) with a faster 230mm twist barrel (1:9.05") before switching back to 270mm (1:10.63") later in 1913. These rifles were issued to recruits.
On the right side of the stock, there are heavy pressure marks on the butt near the comb and a light gouge near the grip. On the left side of the stock there are heavy pressure marks near the rear of the butt and a small group of light gouges at the center of the butt. Small 1/2" unrepaired crack by the rear of the receiver. Light gouges between the grip and the finger groove. On the underside of the stock there is a light gouge at the butt behind the pistol grip. Heavy pressure mark in front of the rear sling mount. Light gouge behind the front barrel band. The handguard has a small group of mild pressure marks between the ferrule and rear barrel band. Light gouge in front of the rear barrel band.
Very light pitting at the rear of the receiver. Heavy surface marks at the rear of the loading slot. Mild surface mark on the forward edge of the loading slot. Both barrel bands have light finish wear and light patina. Heavy patina on the trigger guard and magazine.
Receiver is P55 stamped, indicating privatization in 1955. WF27 stamp indicates armory refurbishment in 1927.
Bottom bolt knob is cracked.
