Product Description
Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1902, in very good condition with 90% finish. 4/5 Bore (bright bore, sharp rifling, but there is a small area of light pitting). 5/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Furniture is in 1911 Rifle configuration. The right side of the stock has a couple of scuff marks below the comb and a small scuff mark on the pistol grip. There are several light to mild pressure marks near and around the finger groove. The left side of the stock has a scuff mark at the heel and a larger scuff mark to the right of the grip. There are also multiple light to mild pressure marks around the grip and the scuff mark. Several pressure marks around and above the finger groove, and pressure marks on the forearm before the rear barrel band. Handguard has some light pressure marks on the top side in front of the rear barrel band. There is some faint remnants of red paint behind the front barrel band.
Receiver has very light finish wear throughout. Very light to light edge wear around the loading slot and minor to very light edge wear around the lightening cuts. Light spots of finish wear around the serial number and a few scattered light scratches. Light to mild edge wear at the rear of the receiver. Rear barrel band has light finish wear on the right side at the mounting screw. Front barrel band has light finish wear on the right side at the mounting screw, on the left side at the hinge, and light edge wear on the bayonet lug. Light edge wear around the front sight and at the muzzle. Magazine plate has light finish wear in between the trigger guard and the magazine and light edge wear around the mounting screws. Light edge wear on the trigger guard. Light edge wear on the magazine.
Receiver is P.·6 stamped, but there is also a · in between the P. and the single digit. The additional · usually indicates armory refurbishment, and the single digit is a little odd, so we believe this rifle was either privatized in 1906, only four years after issue, or armory refurbished in 1906.
Includes leather sling.
C&R Eligible. Discreet import engraving. See our How To Order page for ordering instructions.
