Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1899, in very good condition with 85% finish. 3/5 Bore (lightly worn rifling, light to mild pitting, lightly dull). 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
On the right side of the stock, there are heavy pressure marks toward the rear of the butt. On the left side of the stock, there is a heavy gouge near the center of the butt, and a long pressure mark running diagonally across the butt. Light gouge in front of the finger groove. Multiple light gouges around the rear barrel band. Heavy pressure marks on the forearm between the barrel bands. On the underside of the stock there is a heavy gouge by the magazine catch. Light gouges before the front barrel band. The handguard has light gouging before the rear barrel band and multiple heavy pressure marks and light gouges between the barrel bands.
Receiver finish is lightly worn and has multiple surface marks throughout. Mild edge wear around the loading slot. Both barrel bands have light finish wear and light patina. Multiple mild surface marks on the trigger guard. Light finish wear on the magazine plate and trigger guard.
Receiver is P 35 stamped, indicating privatization in 1935. ·9 stamped below the serial number, indicating armory refurbishment in 1909.
