Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1907, in good condition with 75% original finish. 3/5 Bore (mildly worn rifling). 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
On the right side of the stocks, there are a few scuffs around the butt. There are multiple scratches and gouges on the grip. There are a few light and mild pressure marks around the finger groove. Small, heavy pressure mark to the right of the finger groove below the woodline. On the left side of the stock, there are multiple light pressure marks and a few light gouges and scrapes around the butt. Light gouge off the right edge of the finger groove, and a light gouge above the finger groove, below the woodline. Before the rear barrel band there are a few light gouges. On the underside of the stock, there is a gouge to the right of the magazine plate, in front of the magazine catch, and there are multiple light pressure marks forward of the magazine plate. Light gouge to the left of the rear barrel band spring. Pressure marks throughout the comb of the stock and heavy finish wear on the heel. The comb is also stamped for Canton Vaud. Heavy gouge near the receiver tang. Light pressure marks throughout the handguard.
Fair finish wear throughout the receiver, with an area of moderate finish wear on the right side. Fair to moderate edge wear around the loading slot, mild edge wear around the lightening cuts and the rear edge. Both barrel bands have heavy finish wear and light patina. Fair finish wear on the magazine plate. Moderate finish wear on the trigger guard. Heavy finish wear on the magazine. Magazine plate, trigger guard, and magazine also has mild patina.
Receiver is P 43 stamped, indicating privatization in 1943.
Lower bolt knob is cracked.
