Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1905, in very good condition with 85% finish. 4/5 Bore. 1*/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Furniture appears to have been previously sanded as the Swiss military acceptance stamp on the right side of the stock is not present.
On the right side of the stock, there is a small, heavy pressure mark below the bolt release lever. To the right of the lever, there is a long pressure mark and several light pressure marks below it. On the left side of the stock, there are several mild pressure marks along the butt. Heavy handling wear between the grip and the finger groove, with multiple small, light gouges and light pressure marks. Light to mild pressure marks on the underside of the stock around the rear sling mount. There is a large chip at the receiver tang. There is also a small 1/2" crack at the tang that has not been repaired, dropping the furniture grade from 3/5 to 1/5. Light to mild pressure marks throughout the handguard.
Bluing had been previously refurbished. Receiver finish is lightly worn and has light patina, particularly over the chamber. Several surface marks at the rear of the receiver. Light edge wear around the loading slot and the lightening cuts, mild to fair edge wear at the rear edge. Both barrel bands have light finish wear and light patina. Heavy tool marks on the rear barrel band at the mounting screw. Trigger guard has light finish wear, light patina, and various surface marks. Magazine has some scattered surface marks.
Receiver is P stamped.
Includes muzzle cover and leather sling.
