Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1905, in very good condition with 80% original finish. 5/5 Bore. 3/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
On the right side of the stock, there are light pressure marks and a few light gouges throughout the butt, as well as a light scrape on the bottom edge near the pistol grip. Pistol grip has a heavy pressure mark and there is another heavy pressure mark on the grip above the trigger. Mild to fair pressure marks below and around the bolt release lever. On the left side of the stock, there are multiple light to mild pressure marks throughout the butt. Heavy handling wear between the grip and the right side of the finger groove, with multiple heavy pressure marks. Heavy pressure marks above the finger groove. Multiple pressure marks throughout the underside of the stock. Gouge to the right of the magazine plate and a second gouge on the right edge of the magazine plate, in front of the magazine catch. Heavy gouge on the right side of the forearm, near the front barrel band. The comb of the stock is stamped for Canton Vaud and has an armory rack number of 34611. Chip at the receiver tang. Handguard has light gouging on the left side near the ferrule and a gouge on the top side in between the two barrel bands.
Receiver has fair to moderate finish wear and mild patina, with heavier finish wear over the chamber. Light surface marks throughout the receiver. Both barrel bands have light finish wear. Mild finish wear on the magazine plate. Fair edge wear, mild finish wear, and surface marks on the trigger guard. Mild finish wear on the magazine.
Receiver is P 52 stamped, indicating privatization in 1952.
