Swiss 1889 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1892, in very good condition with 80% original finish. 5/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number. Bolt knobs matching serial numbers.
Furniture has various light to mild pressure marks throughout. On the right side of the stock there is some gouging above the magazine and a small gouge above this area at the woodline. There are a series of gouges below the bottom right side of the finger groove. There is a scrape in front of the rear barrel band. On the left side of the stock there are multiple pressure marks around the butt. There are a pair of small gouges at the woodline below the receiver. There are a few moderate pressure marks on the forearm found at the woodline between the handguard ferrule and the rear barrel band, spanning between the stock and handguard. On the underside of the stock there is a gouge about halfway between the end of the magazine plate and the rear barrel band. There are also a couple of long gouges near the front barrel band.
Receiver has light finish wear with mild patina and light pitting throughout. Mild edge wear around the loading slot, light edge wear around the lightening cuts. Both barrel bands have fair to moderate finish wear and light patina. Magazine plate has light to mild finish wear. Trigger guard has mild to fair finish wear and mild patina. Magazine has mild to fair edge wear and finish wear.
Both bolt knobs are cracked.
Receiver is P 21 stamped, indicating privatization in 1921.
Includes muzzle cover and non-military leather sling.
