Swiss 1889 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1892, in very good condition with 85% finish. 4/5 Bore (light pitting throughout bore). 3/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Furniture exhibits fair to moderate handling wear overall with numerous pressure marks throughout. There is a subtle tiger stripe pattern present. On the right side of the stock there is a long gouge below the comb and several long scratches. Above the magazine are multiple heavy pressure marks. Small gouge in front of the rear barrel band just below the woodline. On the left side of the stock there are multiple scratches at the butt. There are several gouges present, including a deep gouge in the middle of the butt. There is some gouging at the top of the grip and multiple heavy pressure marks to the left of the grip. Multiple heavy pressure marks around the rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock there are a couple gouges near the grip. Heavy pressure mark in front of the magazine plate.
All bluing has been refurbished at some point. Receiver has light pitting throughout as well as some scattered surface marks in the metal underneath the refinished bluing. There are areas of heavy pitting on the right side of the receiver. Both barrel bands have light finish wear and light patina. Magazine plate, trigger guard, and magazine have heavy pitting.
Both bolt knobs are cracked and have several surface marks.
Receiver is P 19 stamped, indicating privatization in 1919.
Includes muzzle cover and leather sling.
