Swiss 1889 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1896, in good condition with 75% finish. 3/5 Bore (mildly worn rifling). 1/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
Furniture had been refinished with a gloss coat.
Stock is cracked at the grip; there is a small crack behind the receiver tang and a crack on the left and right sides of the grip. None of these cracks have been repaired.
The stock is chipped on the left side behind the rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock there are light gouges around the rear of the magazine plate. Handguard has light gouging at the rear.
Receiver finish is heavily worn. Both barrel bands have mild to heavy finish wear and some sort of gloss coating had been applied. Magazine plate and trigger guard have mild finish wear.
Receiver is P31 stamped, indicating privatization in 1931.
